We Are Seekers

I’ve started a new blog for more introspective works inspired by my faith. If you’re interested, you can view it here.

stillseekingthetruth:

We believe.

We don’t believe.

God is now here.

God is nowhere.

We live our lives seeking, faithing, wondering, falling, faltering, failing, grasping at a truth that we do not fully understand or see, hoping that it is what we believe it is, knowing that we will never know the full dimensions of what it is we’ve touched.

Review: Alex Clare — The Lateness of the Hour

I really hesitate to call this a Dubstep album. This is actually pretty classy music. It is, in a sense, Dubstep, but it comes off much more like a soulful kind of album because of Alex Clare’s rather unique vocal talent. Instead of the rather tired “wub-wub-wub” that the likes of Skrillex and Bassnectar have manged to make synonymous with Dubstep, Clare manages to make something infinitely more enjoyable and subtle with the basic elements of Dubstep thanks to a rather welcome production decision to let the vocals carry this album, as opposed to the infamous “wub-screech-squark” that dominates the Dubstep genre today.

Actually, I’m not even sure if I would say this album redeems Dubstep as a genre as much as it has its roots in Dubstep while breaking its own ground. Either way, it’s a welcome find. Check it out on Spotify.
